He Bought a Bored Ape for 6.6 ETH and Sent It to the Dead Address
The account is ten days old. Bio is a skull. No site. No team. No paper trail. Eight hundred something followers and a wallet that just turned a Bored Ape into a punchline.
ossen.eth bought BAYC #5085 at 06:44 UTC on September 21 for 6.649 ETH. Three minutes later the same ape went to 0x…dEaD. Previous owner once paid 117 ETH for the privilege of holding it. Ossen paid a weekend-flex price and killed the ticket on-chain. Then he posted the receipt like a mic drop.
That is the show. Here is the ledger, because this space loves a speech and hates a timestamp.
September 20, 17:11. Bulk Argonauts, 7.75 ETH.
September 20, 17:53. Forty ETH lands in the wallet.
September 21, 06:44. The Ape.
September 21, 06:48. The burn.
September 21, 10:46. Another Argonaut. #9346. He is still shopping while the timeline argues about whether he is a hero, a troll, or a marketing department with a ski mask.
The bag under the costume is not empty. Roughly 33 ETH still sitting there. Thirty-three Argonauts. Thirty HOLY by Wubbushi. Five Nakamigos. So the bit is not “I hate NFTs.” The bit is “I hate that ape, and I will spend mid-five-figures to make you watch.” He collects. He just refuses to collect the sacred cow.
Educational part, short. Burning an NFT means sending it to an address nobody can open. The token ID still exists on the contract. The picture still lives on a server. What dies is the owner. Supply of tradeable Apes goes down by one. Floor does not become philosophy. Twitter becomes louder. We have seen this movie. In 2022 somebody burned a Mutant for a collection called We Are All Going to Die. Same fire. Smaller account. Same need to be seen.
JBond called it performative. Correct. A ten-day-old skull bought the most famous profile picture in the room and set it on fire so the room had to say his name. That is not art criticism. That is customer acquisition with a dead address.
Two readings, both allowed. Pure stunt: new character, fresh ETH, one viral funeral, goodbye. Or warm-up: the same wallet keeps hoovering Argonauts while Cozomo minted that collection on August 31. Two different mouths. Same pile of JPEGs. That is not proof of a plot. It is a breadcrumb. The real signal is the next contract this wallet touches. Mint, claim, deploy. That is when the skull grows a project. Until then it is a man with 33 ETH and a hobby of making Bored Ape holders write paragraphs.
He did not kill art. He bought a ticket to the loudspeaker and burned the ticket. The ape is gone. The quote-tweets are not.
Class dismissed. Watch the wallet, not the speech.
