At stackoftruths, we utilize the ERC721 Smart Contract to power our art collections, ensuring a secure, transparent, and innovative way for our customers to own, trade, and verify their digital art pieces. ERC721 is the industry standard for creating non-fungible tokens (NFTs) — on Ethereum, and on Base, the Ethereum layer-2 the newer series are minted on. It offers several advantages that align perfectly with our commitment to authenticity and creativity.

The contracts behind the work

Everything I sell is minted straight from my own contracts — no shared contract I don’t control, no marketplace in between. Three groups, on two chains:

You can paste any of these addresses into an explorer — Ethereum for the first two, Base for the four series — and see the tokens, the owners and every transfer for yourself. No artist statement required — the chain says it.

  2. Security and Immutability With ERC721, once a transaction or ownership transfer is recorded on the blockchain, it is permanently stored and cannot be altered. This ensures a tamper-proof, secure system for collectors and investors. You can rest assured knowing that your purchase is safe from forgery or counterfeiting.
  3. Resale and Transferability ERC721 tokens are easily transferable between wallets, allowing for smooth trading and resale in the digital art marketplace. As the rightful owner, you can resell your artwork on various platforms that support ERC721, enabling market liquidity and value appreciation over time.
  4. Royalties and Artist Support ShaderPunk carries the ERC-2981 royalty standard at 10%, and each of the four Base series at 5%, so that share of every resale returns to the artist automatically — on OpenSea, on Manifold, and on any other marketplace that honours the standard. Creators stay compensated long after the first sale, which keeps this ecosystem healthy for everyone in it.
  5. Interoperability ERC721 tokens are widely accepted across many different platforms and marketplaces that support Ethereum-based NFTs, on Ethereum itself and on Base. This gives you flexibility to showcase, trade, or display your art in various compatible ecosystems, adding value and reach to your collection.
  6. Transparency Every transaction and ownership history related to the artwork is publicly visible on the blockchain. This level of transparency offers confidence to collectors and buyers, knowing they can verify the origin, ownership, and trading history of any piece.

By leveraging the ERC721 standard, stackoftruths offers a new dimension of digital ownership: work that exists as a digital original — animations built frame by frame and still images (PNG and JPEG). The 1/1s are minted once and never repeated; the Base series are twenty separate works, every one of them a 1/1, never a reprint. I don’t sell prints or physical editions; what you collect is the file itself, and the proof of it, on-chain. Art should be appreciated, collected and owned in a way that reflects the future, and for this work the future is digital.
